Noble Discoverer recalled to Alaska
The drillship Noble Discoverer will be recalled to Alaska early in the new year to fulfill contract obligations and is now unlikely to be able to complete drilling the Ruru exploration well for Shell Todd Oil Services (STOS).

Major milestones for Great South Basin venture
OMV New Zealand and Shell New Zealand are pleased to announce major milestones for the Great South Basin joint venture, with the addition of Shell into the venture and confirmation that a comprehensive 3D seismic programme will begin later this year on Permits 50119 and 50120. Permit 50121 will be returned to the Crown.

Drilling commences on South Taranaki well Ruru
Shell Todd Oil Services Limited (STOS) has started drilling the Ruru exploration well, using the Noble Discoverer drill ship. The well will take about two months to complete.

NZ first, electromagnetic survey of Maui gas field
Shell Todd Oil Services Limited (STOS), the operator of the Maui field, will conduct an electromagnetic survey in the Maui Production Mining License (PML 381012) in January 2011 for about a month.

Ruru exploration well to be drilled offshore South Taranaki
Shell Todd Oil Services Limited (STOS) is drilling an exploration well called Ruru, south of and adjacent to the Maui field. Drilling will start in approximately February 2011 (weather dependant) using the Noble Discoverer drill ship.
